About Fort Zeelandia from Above, Paramaribo

Fort Zeelandia stands on the bank of the Suriname River at the edge of old Paramaribo. The English built the first fort here in the 1650s, and in 1667 a Dutch fleet under Abraham Crijnssen captured it and renamed it after the Dutch province of Zeeland. In the same year the Dutch kept Suriname in the peace treaty with England, which kept New Amsterdam, today's New York. The fort, with its five-pointed shape, now houses the Suriname Museum. This photo looks down into its courtyard, surrounded by brick buildings with red-tiled roofs.

Puzzle tip: start with the red roofs around the courtyard, then the pale paving in the middle and the river in the corner.
