About Halifax Citadel from Above

Citadel Hill rises above downtown Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, and after the city was founded in 1749 the British built four forts in turn on its top to guard one of the largest natural harbours in the world. The star-shaped stone fort seen today, Fort George, was finished in 1856 and was never attacked. It is now a national historic site, where a cannon is still fired every day at noon. This view from above shows the green walls of the citadel, the streets of the city around it and the harbour with its islands beyond.

Puzzle tip: begin with the star-shaped fort and its green slopes, then the city blocks, and finish with the water and the sky.
