About Hohensalzburg Fortress above the Salzach, Salzburg

Hohensalzburg Fortress stands on a hill above Salzburg’s old town and the Salzach River. Archbishop Gebhard began building it in 1077, and later archbishops enlarged it as a stronghold for their principality. Around 1500 it gained much of the appearance visitors see today. The fortress was never captured by foreign troops and can now be reached on foot or by funicular. In this view, its pale walls rise above the church domes and riverside buildings, with the river crossing the foreground.

Puzzle tip: build the fortress and green domes first; use the riverside buildings to separate the water from the sky.
