About Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden, Oʻahu

Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden lies at the foot of the steep green Koʻolau mountains near Kāneʻohe, on the windward side of Oʻahu. It was first built to protect the town from floods, with a large reservoir in the middle, and opened as a garden in 1982. Its plants come from tropical regions all over the world and are grouped by where they grow. The Hawaiian name means "a place of peace and tranquillity", and entry is free.

Puzzle tip: the road leads the eye to the mountains, so build it first; the green cliffs are best sorted by their light and shade.
