About Northern Lights over Whitehorse, Yukon

Swirls of green aurora fill the sky over the snowy hills and forests around Whitehorse, the capital of Canada's Yukon. The city grew up in 1898 on the Yukon River, where gold seekers bound for the Klondike stopped before the dangerous rapids, whose white foam was said to look like the manes of galloping horses. Today about 30,000 people live here, and on clear winter nights the aurora can often be seen from the edge of town.

Puzzle tip: the snowy slope and the dark trees in front are the easiest parts; the green rings in the sky come next.
