About Old Lighthouse at Cape Spear

The old lighthouse at Cape Spear, near St. John's, is the oldest surviving lighthouse in Newfoundland and Labrador. It was first lit in 1836, and its light shone from here until 1955, when it moved to a new tower nearby. The square wooden house with the lantern in the middle of its roof was also the keepers' home, and one family, the Cantwells, kept the light for about 150 years. Restored to look as it did in the 1830s, it is now a museum. In this photo it stands on a green clifftop above the ocean under a clear blue sky.

Puzzle tip: begin with the white house and the red-and-white lantern on top, then the cliff and the grass, and leave the blue sky and the sea for last.
