About Popeye Village at Anchor Bay

Popeye Village is a cluster of crooked wooden houses on the shore of Anchor Bay, in the north-west of Malta. It was built in 1979 and 1980 as the set of Sweethaven for the musical film Popeye, directed by Robert Altman, with Robin Williams in the title role. The crew used timber brought from abroad and built a breakwater to protect the set. After filming the village was left standing and became an attraction where actors in costume, a small cinema and boat trips entertain visitors. This photo shows the colourful houses above the turquoise bay.

Puzzle tip: start with the colourful wooden houses, then fill the turquoise water and the rocky cliff around them.
