About Skagen Lighthouse at Sunset

Skagen lies at the northern tip of Denmark, where a long sandy spit called Grenen points into the sea and the waves of the Skagerrak and the Kattegat meet. The Grey Lighthouse, finished in 1858, is 46 metres tall and one of the tallest in Denmark; visitors can climb it for views over the dunes and both seas. In the late 19th century a group of painters, the Skagen Painters, came here for the clear northern light, which they painted on the beaches and in the fishermen's homes. In this photo the tall tower glows in the low evening sun above the shore.

Puzzle tip: the tall lighthouse is the clearest shape; the grassy shore and the sea in front come next.
