About Toshhovli Palace Courtyard, Khiva

Toshhovli Palace stands inside Itchan Kala, the walled old town of Khiva. It was built in the nineteenth century for the rulers of the Khiva Khanate and contains courtyards, rooms and richly decorated walls. Blue tiles, carved wood and patterned columns give the interior its distinctive appearance. The photograph concentrates on one courtyard, so you can compare the tiled surfaces with the darker doorways and columns. Start with the straight architectural lines, then use the changing tile patterns to place the smaller pieces.

Puzzle tip: follow the courtyard walls and columns, then match the different tile patterns.
