About Trakai Island Castle

Trakai Island Castle stands on an island in Lake Galvė west of Vilnius. The red-brick fortress was built for the rulers of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the medieval period. Restored walls and towers now contain a museum, while bridges link the island to the lakeside town. The picture captures the red towers above blue water and their softer reflection. Trakai is also home to the Karaim, a small Turkic-speaking community brought here in the 14th century, whose wooden houses have three windows facing the street.

Puzzle tip: build the red towers before their reflected shapes in the lake.
