About Cathedral Square and Old Town, Vilnius

Vilnius is Lithuania’s capital, built where several rivers and hills meet. Its historic centre grew over many centuries and contains churches, courtyards and streets from different periods. Cathedral Square lies at the edge of the old town beneath Gediminas Hill, whose tower recalls the city’s medieval origins. The aerial photograph sets the open square against dense blocks of red old-town roofs. The cathedral's free-standing bell tower was once a defensive tower of the city walls.

Puzzle tip: start with the open square and group the red roofs by their different shades.
