About Village of Percé and Its Rock

The village of Percé curves around a bay at the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula, with Percé Rock standing just offshore and Bonaventure Island beyond. Its wooden houses, churches and fish-drying sheds recall a long history of cod fishing that began with French and Basque fishermen centuries ago. Today the village lives mostly from tourism, with boat trips around the rock and to the gannet colony. In this photo the road leads down past houses and trees to the bay, with the rock and the island out in the blue sea.

Puzzle tip: start with the rock and the island, then the houses and the road, and finish with the sea and sky.
