About Wood Islands Lighthouse, Prince Edward Island

Wood Islands Lighthouse stands on the south-east coast of Prince Edward Island, beside the ferry terminal for boats to Nova Scotia. It was built in 1876, with the keeper's house joined to the square wooden tower, and it guided ships across the Northumberland Strait for more than a century. Today it is a museum with exhibits on island life and shipwrecks. Prince Edward Island has more than 60 lighthouses for its small size. In this photo the white lighthouse with its red trim stands on green grass under a blue sky.

Puzzle tip: start with the white lighthouse and its red trim, then the green grass, and finish with the blue sky.
