About Zlatni Rat Beach, Brač

Zlatni Rat, the Golden Horn, is a long spit of fine pebbles that reaches out into the sea from the south coast of the island of Brač, near the town of Bol. It is about five hundred metres long, and its tip slowly changes shape and direction with the wind, the waves and the currents. Behind it grows a pine forest, and above rises Vidova Gora, the highest peak of the Adriatic islands. In summer the steady afternoon wind makes the channel between Brač and Hvar a favourite place for windsurfing. Brač is also known for its white stone, quarried here since Roman times.

Puzzle tip: start with the pale beach and the line of turquoise water beside it; the dark pine forest and the open sea come last.
