Belize is a small country on the Caribbean coast of Central America, the only one in the region where English is the official language. Our Belize puzzles show the Great Blue Hole, a Maya temple, a pine forest river and the colourful village of Placencia.

Off the coast lies the Belize Barrier Reef, the second largest reef system in the world. In its middle is the Great Blue Hole, a round underwater sinkhole about 300 metres across and 125 metres deep, made famous by the explorer Jacques Cousteau.
Inland, the Maya city of Xunantunich is crowned by El Castillo, a temple about 40 metres high with carved friezes, and the cool highlands of Mountain Pine Ridge are full of rivers and waterfalls. On the southern coast, Placencia is a relaxed fishing village on a narrow sandy peninsula.
