About Ball Court at Copán

Copán, in the green hills of western Honduras, was a powerful Maya city, famous for having some of the finest stone carving of the Maya world. Its ball court, finished in the 8th century, is one of the largest in Central America; players had to keep a heavy rubber ball in the air without using their hands. Nearby stands the Hieroglyphic Stairway, carved with more than 2,000 signs. Copán is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Puzzle tip: follow the sloping walls of the ball court; the grass and the trees come after.
