About The Colosseum at Dusk, Rome

The Colosseum was completed in AD 80 under the emperor Titus and could hold tens of thousands of spectators for gladiator fights and public shows. It is the largest amphitheatre ever built. Earthquakes and centuries of stone-robbing carried away much of its outer ring, which is why one side still stands taller than the other. At dusk, lights glow in its arches against a deep blue sky.

Puzzle tip: start with the warm, lit arches row by row; the sky is almost one colour, so sort those pieces by shape.
