About Custom House on the Liffey, Dublin

The Custom House was designed by the architect James Gandon and completed in 1791 on the north bank of the River Liffey, where it controlled Dublin's trade by sea. It was badly burned in 1921 during the War of Independence and later restored. With its long white stone front and green copper dome reflected in the river, it is one of the finest Georgian buildings in the city.

Puzzle tip: the dome and the white columns stand out well; the river's reflections and the blue sky come next.
