About Red Sandstone Shore, Prince Edward Island

Along the north shore of Prince Edward Island, wide ledges of red sandstone step down into the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Prince Edward Island National Park, created in 1937, protects these cliffs together with long sand dunes and beaches with some of the warmest sea water in eastern Canada in summer. The island is also known for its potatoes, which grow well in the iron-rich red soil, and for its lobster suppers. In this photo flat red rocks and pools stretch towards the sea under a soft sky.

Puzzle tip: start with the cracks and edges of the red ledges, then the pools, and finish with the sea and sky.
