About The Cliffs and Waterfalls of the Geirangerfjord

The Geirangerfjord is about fifteen kilometres long and is walled by cliffs that rise more than a thousand metres straight from the water. It was carved by glaciers during the ice ages and later flooded by the sea. On narrow ledges high above it lie old mountain farms such as Skageflå and Knivsflå, where families once lived and climbed up and down by ladders; today they can be reached only on foot or by boat. In this photo the turquoise fjord winds between green and grey cliffs, with a white waterfall pouring down the slope on the right.

Puzzle tip: start with the turquoise water and the white waterfall, then the green cliffs, and finish with the snowy peaks and the clouds.
