About Autumn Road on Île d'Orléans

In the fall, golden maples line a country road on Île d'Orléans, an island in the St. Lawrence River just downstream from Quebec City, Canada. When Jacques Cartier arrived in 1535, he called it the island of Bacchus because of the wild grapes growing there. Until a bridge was built in 1935 it could be reached only by boat or, in winter, over the ice, and its six old villages still keep farms, orchards and stone houses from the time of New France. In autumn people come to pick apples and buy cider. In this photo a road curves under tall yellow trees past a white farmhouse, with the river behind.

Puzzle tip: start with the road and the white house, then the trunks of the trees, and finish with the yellow leaves and the sky.
