About Black Bear near Vancouver, British Columbia

The American black bear is the most common bear in Canada, living in forests from Newfoundland to British Columbia, and around Vancouver it is sometimes seen at the edge of the city in the North Shore mountains. Despite the name, its fur can be black, brown, cinnamon or even white: the white Kermode or spirit bear of the British Columbia coast is a black bear too. Black bears eat mostly berries, plants and insects, and they spend the winter asleep in dens. In this photo a black bear with a brown muzzle looks straight at the camera from the green grass.

Puzzle tip: begin with the bear's brown muzzle and eyes, then its black fur, and finish with the grass around it.
