About Edinburgh Castle on Castle Rock

Edinburgh Castle sits on top of Castle Rock, the core of a volcano that was active about 350 million years ago. Cliffs protect it on three sides, which is why people have built a fortress here for well over a thousand years. Inside are the Scottish crown jewels and St Margaret's Chapel, the oldest building in the city, and a cannon is fired from its walls at one o'clock every day except Sunday.

Puzzle tip: the castle walls and the rock blend together, so sort the pieces by the texture of stone and cliff.
