About Hunza Valley in Autumn

The Hunza Valley lies in Gilgit-Baltistan, in the far north of Pakistan, surrounded by some of the highest mountains on Earth, including Rakaposhi at 7,788 metres. The Karakoram Highway, the road to China, runs along the Hunza River through the valley. For centuries Hunza was a small princely state, ruled from Baltit Fort, which still looks down on the town of Karimabad. In autumn the poplars and apricot orchards turn yellow and orange, and the valley glows against the grey mountains.

Puzzle tip: the bright autumn trees are the easiest part; the river and the grey mountains need more patience.
