About Turquoise River in Taroko Gorge

Taroko Gorge cuts through the mountains of eastern Taiwan near Hualien. The Liwu River has carved a deep route through marble and other rock, leaving cliffs close to the water in many places. The gorge is part of Taroko National Park, which also protects forests and mountain habitats. Rain and storms can change the colour and flow of the river quickly. In this photo, the turquoise current winds between pale boulders and dark rock walls, giving each part of the puzzle a different texture.

Puzzle tip: follow the turquoise water through the frame, then fit the pale boulders against the darker rock.
