About Itsukushima Torii and a Wooden Boat

The torii of Itsukushima Shrine is one of the most famous sights in Japan. The present gate, the eighth on this spot, was raised in 1875 from the trunks of huge camphor trees, and it is about sixteen metres tall. It was carefully repaired and repainted between 2019 and 2022. In this photo the high tide surrounds the gate, the green hills of the island rise behind it, and a traditional wooden boat glides across the calm water at its feet.

Puzzle tip: build the red gate first, then the hills along the horizon, and use the reflections to fill in the water.
