About Hakata Bay from the Hills of Fukuoka

Fukuoka faces Hakata Bay, a wide bay sheltered from the open sea by islands and a long sandy spit. In the thirteenth century the Mongol fleets that tried to invade Japan twice landed on its shores, and both times storms helped the defenders, giving rise to the legend of the kamikaze, the divine wind. Today the bay is lined with beaches, parks and the city's waterfront. This photo looks down from green hills over the blue bay and the curving strip of sand along its shore.

Puzzle tip: start with the curving white beach, then the green hills in front, and sort the sea from turquoise to deep blue.
