About Chain Bridge at Night, Budapest

The Széchenyi Chain Bridge was the first permanent bridge across the Danube in Budapest, opened in 1849. It joined the towns of Buda and Pest, which were officially united into one city in 1873. Its stone towers and iron chains were designed by the English engineer William Tierney Clark. At night the bridge is lit up and reflected in the river below.
