About Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion, Kyoto

Kinkaku-ji is a Zen temple in Kyoto whose top two floors are covered in gold leaf. It was built in the 14th century as a villa for the shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu and turned into a temple after his death. The pavilion was burned down in 1950 and rebuilt a few years later. It stands beside the Mirror Pond, whose still water reflects the golden walls.

Puzzle tip: the golden pavilion and its reflection are the key; the trees and the pond come next.
