About Chamarel Waterfall, Mauritius

The Chamarel Waterfall plunges about 100 metres from the edge of a plateau into a gorge in the green hills of south-west Mauritius. It is the highest single-drop waterfall on the island. The St Denis river feeds it, and the cliffs around it show layers of old lava flows from the volcanoes that built the island.

Puzzle tip: the white ribbon of water is easy to follow; the green forest needs patience.
