About Grand Canyon Overlook

The Grand Canyon in Arizona was carved by the Colorado River over millions of years. It is about 446 kilometres long and more than 1.8 kilometres deep in places, and the rocks at the bottom are nearly two billion years old. This view is from Hopi Point on the South Rim, one of the most popular spots for watching the light change across the canyon, here with a rainbow after a storm.

Puzzle tip: the layers of red and orange rock run in bands; follow them across the picture and use the rainbow as a landmark.
