About Machu Picchu Ruins

Machu Picchu is an Inca citadel built in the 15th century on a ridge high in the Andes of Peru, about 2,400 metres above sea level. It was abandoned about a century later and remained little known to the outside world until 1911. Many of its stone walls fit together so precisely that no mortar was needed. Clouds often drift around the peaks above the ruins, as in this photo.

Puzzle tip: the stone walls and the lone tree are the easiest parts; the misty mountain behind is a test of patience.
