About Bend of the Rijeka Crnojevića River

The Rijeka Crnojevića River flows through a green valley into Lake Skadar, the largest lake in the Balkans, shared by Montenegro and Albania. Near the lake it makes a wide loop around a steep green hill, a view best seen from the Pavlova Strana lookout above the road. The river and the town of the same name are linked to the Crnojević family, who ruled this part of Montenegro in the fifteenth century. The lake's reeds and lily pads shelter rare Dalmatian pelicans. This aerial photo shows the river curling around the green hill.

Puzzle tip: start with the curve of the river, then fill the green hill inside the bend and the mountains behind.
