About Boats at the Mouth of the Verdon Gorge

The Verdon Gorge in Provence is one of the deepest canyons in Europe, cut by the river Verdon into white limestone and up to about seven hundred metres deep in places. It runs for some twenty-five kilometres before opening into the Lake of Sainte-Croix. The water has a milky green-blue colour, which comes from tiny particles of rock and minerals carried by the river. At the lower end of the gorge, near the Galetas bridge, visitors rent pedal boats and kayaks and paddle up between the cliffs. This photo looks into the gorge, with small boats dotted across the turquoise water.

Puzzle tip: start with the white cliffs and the green trees, then the small boats, and finish with the turquoise water.
