About Rock Arch in the Tadrart Acacus

The Tadrart Acacus is a range of dark sandstone mountains in the far southwest of Libya, in the heart of the Sahara near the Algerian border. Wind and sand have carved its rocks into towers, canyons and natural arches rising out of orange dunes. Its caves and rock shelters hold thousands of paintings and engravings, some up to 12,000 years old, showing giraffes, elephants and cattle from a time when the Sahara was green. The rock art is a UNESCO World Heritage site. This photo shows a rock arch above the orange sand.

Puzzle tip: start with the arch and its dark rock, then the orange dunes, and the blue sky last.
