About Bow Lake and the Waputik Range

Across Bow Lake rise the peaks of the Waputik Range, whose name comes from the Stoney word for mountain goat. Above the lake hangs the Crowfoot Glacier, named because it once had three "toes" of ice like a crow's foot; one has since melted away. A trail along the shore leads to Bow Glacier Falls, where meltwater pours over a cliff. The surrounding forest of spruce and fir is home to grizzly bears and wolverines. In this photo snow-capped mountains rise above dark conifers and the blue lake.

Puzzle tip: start with the snowy mountains, then the dark conifers, and finish with the blue lake.
