About Casa Loma, Toronto

Casa Loma is a castle-like mansion on a hill in midtown Toronto, built between 1911 and 1914 for the financier Sir Henry Pellatt, who helped bring electric power from Niagara Falls to the city. With its towers, secret passages and stables, it was one of the largest private homes ever built in Canada, but Pellatt lost his fortune and had to leave it in 1923. The city of Toronto took it over, and today it is a museum and a popular place for weddings and film shoots. In this photo its grey stone towers stand above a garden and a road still wet after rain.

Puzzle tip: begin with the towers and windows against the pale sky, then the garden and the wet road at the bottom.
