About Dunes of the Wahiba Sands

The Wahiba Sands, also called the Sharqiya Sands, form a wide desert region in eastern Oman. Wind reshapes the dunes, leaving ridges and hollows that look different as the sun moves across the sky. Bedouin communities have long travelled through this landscape, and visitors now come to experience its open spaces. The photograph looks down on golden dunes with long shadows. For the puzzle, the sharp lines between sunlight and shade are more useful than the broad areas of similar-coloured sand.

Puzzle tip: trace the dark dune shadows first and use the ridgelines to place the golden sand.
