About Ger and Sheep in the Tamir Valley, Arkhangai

The valley of the Tamir River in Arkhangai Province, central Mongolia, is a land of rolling green steppe, rocky hills and scattered herds. Many families here still live as nomadic herders, moving their camps with the seasons to find fresh pasture. They live in the ger, a round tent of felt over a wooden frame, which can be taken down and loaded onto a cart in about an hour. In Mongolia, sheep, goats, horses, cows and camels together outnumber people by more than twenty to one.

Puzzle tip: the white ger and the sheep are clear spots in the green; the hills and the sky need more patience.
