About Giant Sequoias beside a Meadow, Sequoia National Park

Sequoia National Park, in California's southern Sierra Nevada, was created in 1890 to protect its forests of giant sequoias. Its Giant Forest, named by the naturalist John Muir in 1875, holds several thousand of these trees, among them the General Sherman Tree, the largest single-stem tree on Earth by volume. Small meadows open up between the groves, and in early summer they are green and full of wildflowers. In this photo giant sequoias with reddish bark stand at the edge of a sunny green meadow.

Puzzle tip: start with the reddish sequoia trunks, then the green meadow, and fill the forest behind them last.
