About Lawns of the Vatican Gardens

The Vatican Gardens cover about half of the territory of Vatican City, on the hill behind St Peter's Basilica. Popes have used them as a place of quiet and prayer since the Middle Ages, and over the centuries they have been filled with fountains, grottoes, statues and small buildings. The gardens are enclosed by the old Leonine walls and can only be visited on guided tours. Among the trees are a radio station once set up by Guglielmo Marconi and a small railway station, the shortest national railway in the world. In this photo neat green lawns and potted trees stretch towards dark pines and palms.

Puzzle tip: the bright green lawns are easy to fill; the paths and the potted trees give you the lines to follow.
