About Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, Turkistan

The Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi in the city of Turkistan, in southern Kazakhstan, was built on the orders of Timur between 1389 and 1405 over the grave of a 12th-century Sufi poet and teacher. Work stopped when Timur died, so the great entrance portal was never finished, and the wooden poles of the builders still stick out of it. The main dome, about 18 metres across, is one of the largest in Central Asia, and the domes behind are covered in turquoise tiles. It has been a World Heritage Site since 2003.

Puzzle tip: the turquoise dome is a clear start; the brick walls are easier when you follow the lines of the bricks.
