About Medieval Town Wall of Visby, Gotland

Gotland, the largest island in the Baltic Sea, was a rich trading hub in the Viking Age: more Viking silver hoards have been found here than anywhere else in the world. Its main town, Visby, later became a powerful member of the Hanseatic League of merchant cities. Around 1300 it was surrounded by a stone wall about 3.4 kilometres long, which still stands almost complete with dozens of towers, and the town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This photo shows a stretch of the pale limestone wall and its square towers under a clear blue sky.

Puzzle tip: start with the tall square tower and its flag, then the long pale wall, the green grass and the blue sky.
