Sweden Puzzles
Sweden is the largest of the Scandinavian countries, a land of forests, lakes and long coasts that stretches from the Baltic Sea to far above the Arctic Circle. Our Sweden puzzles visit Stockholm, its elegant capital on the water, Drottningholm Palace, Kalmar Castle, the fishing village of Smögen and the northern lights of Abisko in Swedish Lapland.

About Sweden
Forests cover more than two thirds of the country, and there are around 100,000 lakes. Under an old custom called allemansrätten, the right of public access, everyone is free to walk, camp and pick berries in the countryside. In the far north, the Sámi people herd reindeer, and in midsummer the whole country celebrates with dancing around flower-decked maypoles.
In Stockholm, the colourful houses of Stortorget fill the oldest square of Gamla Stan, and the Nobel banquet is held each December in the City Hall. Kalmar Castle, where three kingdoms were united in 1397, stands on its island in the south-east, and on the west coast the painted huts of Smögen line the harbour.
Newer puzzles follow the Vikings through Sweden: the hillfort of Birka in Lake Mälaren, the royal mounds of Gamla Uppsala and the cathedral of Uppsala, the stone ships of Ales Stenar and Anundshög, the rebuilt Viking village of Foteviken, and the walls and church ruins of Visby on Gotland.
