About Mountain Lake below the Peaks, Glacier National Park

High in Glacier National Park, small alpine lakes lie between steep ridges that were sharpened by the ice. Glaciers once covered almost all of this landscape; about 150 were counted here in 1850, but only a few dozen remain, and they are shrinking. Wildflowers bloom in the short summer, and mountain goats and bighorn sheep are often seen near the trails. The Going-to-the-Sun Road crosses the park and the Continental Divide at Logan Pass. This photo looks down on a long blue lake below rocky peaks and green slopes.

Puzzle tip: start with the long blue lake, then add the rocky peaks and the clouds, and finish with the green slopes.
