About Nuptse and Mount Everest in Winter

Mount Everest, 8,849 metres high, is the highest mountain on Earth. It stands on the border between Nepal and China; in Nepal it is called Sagarmatha, and in Tibet its name is Chomolungma. In front of it rises Nuptse, a long ridge 7,861 metres high that hides much of Everest from the valleys below. The first people known to reach the summit were Edmund Hillary from New Zealand and Tenzing Norgay, a Sherpa from Nepal, on 29 May 1953.

Puzzle tip: the dark rock faces break up the snow, so use them as guides; the blue sky is quick to finish.
