About Penguin on Elephant Island, Antarctica

Elephant Island is a wild, mountainous island covered in ice at the northern tip of the South Shetland Islands, off the Antarctic Peninsula. In 1916 twenty-two men of Ernest Shackleton's Endurance expedition lived here for four and a half months under two upturned boats, while Shackleton sailed 1,300 kilometres in a small lifeboat to South Georgia to fetch help. Every one of them was rescued. Today the island's rocky shores are home to colonies of chinstrap penguins.

Puzzle tip: the penguin is a small dark shape on the rock, so find it first; the misty sky is best sorted by its light and dark patches.
