About Chiradzulu Mountain from the Air

Chiradzulu Mountain rises above the farmland of southern Malawi, north-east of the city of Blantyre, and its upper slopes are protected as a forest reserve. The district around it has an important place in the country's history: in January 1915 the Baptist preacher John Chilembwe led an uprising here against colonial rule and the harsh treatment of farm workers. The rising was quickly put down and Chilembwe was killed, but today he is honoured as a national hero, his portrait is on Malawi's banknotes and 15 January is Chilembwe Day. In this aerial photo the green mountain towers over scattered villages and fields.

Puzzle tip: the rocky summit against the blue sky is a good start; the patchwork of fields below takes longest.
