About Perseus in the Loggia dei Lanzi, Florence

The Loggia dei Lanzi is an open-air gallery on Piazza della Signoria, where famous Renaissance sculptures stand for anyone to see. Its most celebrated statue is Benvenuto Cellini's bronze Perseus, finished in 1554, showing the Greek hero holding up the head of Medusa. Cellini wrote that when the bronze ran short during casting, he threw his own pewter dishes into the furnace to finish it.

Puzzle tip: the dark bronze statue stands out clearly; the carved stone and the doorway around it come next.
