About Pigeon Rocks of Raouché, Beirut

The Pigeon Rocks are two tall limestone stacks standing in the sea just off Raouché, on the western tip of Beirut. Waves and wind have worn a natural arch through the larger rock, wide enough for small boats to pass through in calm weather. The rocks take their name from the wild pigeons that nest in their hollows. The Corniche, Beirut's seaside promenade, runs along the cliffs above, and in the evening it fills with families, joggers and fishermen watching the sun set behind the rocks.

Puzzle tip: the arch is easy to recognise, so start with the big rock; the blue sea and sky come last.
